Phase 1: Redevelopment of land to the east of the M275, Tipner, Portsmouth

The Tipner Regeneration Company Limited

The Tipner Regeneration Company Limited (TRC) is a company that has been specifically set up to redevelop land within its ownership at Tipner.

TRC have submitted two planning application to Portsmouth City Council for the remediation and redevelopment of land to the east of the M275 at Tipner. Both applications include land controlled by TRC (Site A). The second application also includes the site of the former Greyhound Stadium, which is controlled jointly by TRC and the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) (Site B).

The proposals form the first phase of the comprehensive redevelopment of the wider Tipner area, which is identified in the adopted Portsmouth City Local Plan as a priority area for regeneration.

The key benefits arising out of the redevelopment of the site include:

  • The regeneration of an important gateway site to the city;
  • The clean up this heavily contaminated site;
  • A significant contribution to the City Council’s overall housing requirement and the provision of much needed affordable housing;
  • Areas of public open space as well as a waterside walk providing public access to the coast; and
  • Delivery of a high quality, sustainable development for the benefit of existing and future residents of Tipner and Stamshaw
